Susanspolishpottery

Polish stoneware is made from the fine white clay found in Boleslawiec Poland.  The original designs were inspired by the peacock feather using cobalt blue, greens and red.  Each piece is dishwasher, freezer, microwave and oven safe up to 400 degrees.  It is perfect for every day use, yet beautiful enough to be collectible.  Boleslawiec pottery comes from centuries of work by local artisans.  The first-known pieces date back to the 16th century.

Using small sponges Polish artists hand decorate each piece.  Molds are used for some pieces while the plates are made on a pottery wheel.  Each piece is twice fired at temperatures in excess of 1350 degrees.  Decorations are under the lead and cadmium-free glaze, insuring that it is non-toxic and impervious to abrasives.  This high-firing process makes the pottery extremely resistant to chipping.

Each piece is made in Boleslawiec's Ceramika Artystyczna factory.
